The wife of an Australian man with an 8-month-old baby jumped from the ninth floor of an apartment building in Bangkok’s Pathumwan district, police said Wednesday morning.
Bangkok police and rescuers were called to the scene of the horrific incident at around 6:30 am.
Arriving at the pranaiya oulapathorn death apartment building located at Soi Mahatlek Luang 3, they found the bodies of a Thai woman and a child on a ledge on the second floor. The woman was wearing a T-shirt and shorts, and the boy was wearing blue and white.Police said the 37-year-old woman and 8-month-old boy lived with her Australian husband on the third floor.
According to a police source, the couple argued and angrily the woman took the child to the ninth floor and then jumped off. Police found drugs for depression and stress in the couple’s bedroom.
They were still questioning her Australian husband.
The dead woman was identified as Pranaya Ulapathorn. According to media reports, she was in the diamond business. Reports say that she graduated from Oxford University and married her Oxford friend of hers in 2017.Last week, a German man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head in a hotel room in the Patong area of Phuket. The police believe that he committed suicide.
The police, accompanied by a doctor, went to the Amata Patong Hotel to investigate. The 41-year-old German was found dead in a bed in room 827 on the eighth floor.
According to the investigator, the man had a bullet wound to the head. A 9mm caliber bullet from a Kar pistol pierced his head from the right temple to the left. The weapon was still in the dead man’s right hand.
The police also returned his German passport along with a letter protesting against the Thai woman and asking whoever found his body to send his belongings to his relatives. Various antidepressants have also been found.
